City Offices Closed July 3rd

firework.gifCity Offices will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, 2009 in observance of Independence Day.   There will be no change to the waste collection schedule due to the holiday.

Swine Flu Update

As of June 8, Montgomery County has 3 confirmed H1N1 cases.  If you have any questions about the local H1N1 situation, call (937) 225-4508 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.  After normal business hours, you may call the toll-free H1N1 information line of the Ohio Department of Health at 866-800-1404.  Currently the World Health Organization pandemic flu alert level is at Phase 6.  The phase 6 alert is the pandemic phase.  Montgomery County has 3 confirmed cases. Read more...

 
The City of Centerville and Yankee Trace To Be Honored at 13th Annual Ray Wright Classic

The City of Centerville and The Golf Club at Yankee Trace will be honored at the 13th Annual Ray Wright Classic Golf Tournament and Dinner Auction on July 29, 2009 at Yankee Trace. The entire community is invited to attend the event which will honor City officials and Yankee Trace staff for their thirteen years of dedication and service to the annual fundraiser which benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Miami Valley Region.

Centerville Farmers Market Kicks Off Season

The Centerville Farmers Market is back again in 2009! Beginning May 28, and every Thursday thereafter through October 29, market goers can visit the public parking lot on Maple Avenue in historic downtown Centerville and purchase fresh, locally grown produce, organic meats, breads and other homemade goodies.

Volunteers Recognized for Service

Municipal volunteers were recently recognized at the City of Centerville's annual Volunteer Salute held at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace. The Volunteer Salute recognizes the more than 350 volunteers working in Centerville municipal offices and as members of council-appointed boards and commissions.

Centerville Council Committee Selects Recycling Logo Design Winner

Centerville High School junior Kacie Kumar is the winner of the City of Centerville’s Go Green design contest. Her design will be featured on a t-shirt that the City will use to promote its Go Green campaign.

City's New Public Works Facility Plans Announced

pw_a201.gifThe City's current Public Works facility is located at 7970 South Suburban Road and houses the following Public Works Divisions: Administration, Engineering, Streets, Refuse, Horticulture, and Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance.

The Public Works staff consists of approximately 41 full time employees plus various seasonal employees throughout the year.  All of these employees will be housed in the new Public Works Facility, which will be located on a site immediately to the south and adjacent to the existing facility.

Brush Drop Off Update

Due to the construction of the New Public Works Facility, we will no longer be able to accept brush drop offs after Friday, Februrary 27, 2009.  We will continue to provide regular and special pick up service at your residence (curbside) per our refuse rules and regulations.  There is a charge for a special pick up service.  Residents may call 428-4782 to arrange a special pick up. Residents may also take brush to the Montgomery County Solid Waste District in Moraine.  Click Here for more information.

 
Prescription Discount Cards Available

The City of Centerville has a new program to offer savings on prescription drugs to residents who are without health insurance, a traditional benefits plan, or have prescriptions that are not covered by insurance.
The Prescription Discount Card is made available to residents by the City of Centerville in collaboration with the National League of Cities (NLC) and is made possible through Centerville’s membership in NLC.
The card is FREE to all Centerville residents, regardless of age, income or existing health insurance.  By using this card you may save an average of 20% off the regular retail price of prescription drugs at participating pharmacies.
To discover the savings and learn more about the program go to www.caremark.com/nlc. Here you can access the program online and print a card, check drugs prices and locate participating pharmacies.
Residents may also pick up a card at the following locations:

  • Municipal Building located at 100 W. Spring Valley Road
  • Centerville Police Department located at 155 W. Spring Valley Road
  • Centerville Public Works Facility located at 7970 S. Suburban Road
  • The Golf Club at Yankee Trace located at 10000 Yankee Street
