Centerville public works crews will be assisting City property owners over the next several weeks with the removal of tree limbs and other tree-related debris from the recent storm. Crews will not pick up any leaves, grass or small twigs raked to the curb. Crews will be following last year's leaf collection schedule as they move through the City. City Council Approves "Contract with the Community" |
|
At the September Centerville City Council meeting, City Council unanimously approved a resolution that outlines the only conditions under which the Council would support the merging of Centerville and Washington Township, if a merger is ultimately recommended by the Merger Study Commission. “We created this contract with the Centerville and Washington Township community because we know there are citizens who are skeptical of the benefits of a merger or suspicious of the City’s motives in supporting a merger. To address their concerns, we wanted to outline, upfront, our conditions for support of merger if the Merger Study Commission ultimately recommends it, ”said Mayor Mark Kingseed. First-Annual Mayor's Charity Celebration |
|
Mayor Mark Kingseed and his wife Joannie will host Centerville’s first-annual Mayor’s Charity Celebration on Saturday, November 1, from 7 PM to midnight at Yankee Trace.
Any Centerville or Washington Township resident is invited to attend this casual gathering. Party goers will be offered free food and musical entertainment. Guests are encouraged to use the cash that they would otherwise spend on a night out to participate in our silent auction or make a contribution to benefit one of our sponsored charities:*
Rebuilding Together Dayton: The only organization in the Miami Valley dedicated to rehabbing owner-occupied homes for low-income owners at an affordable cost. Through in-kind labor and donated materials, Rebuilding Together Dayton is able to make every dollar donated do the work of four.
Food 2 Go: Sponsored by Living Hope Church, the Food 2 Go program alleviates hunger-not in foreign lands, but here at home. Each Friday, Food 2 Go delivers backpacks of nutritious, non-perishable food to Centerville school children who would otherwise go without meals over the weekend.
Mystery Charity: We’ll give the evening’s largest individual donor the privilege of naming his/her favorite charity to receive one-third of the event proceeds.
Space is limited. To join the celebration, contact the City of Centerville at 937-433-7151 no later than Friday, October 17 for reservations.
*Gifts benefit the Mayor’s Charity Celebration Fund of The Dayton Foundation. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed.
